5–10 June 2011, Charlotte, NC
We are currently in the planning stages for the 2011 Conference. The Conference will be held 5-10 June 2011 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Concord, NC. The focus theme for the conference is Power Generation Automation Today: Beyond the Original Intention. No where is this theme more evident than in the challenges facing the nuclear and fossil power industries today. Having the conference in the Charlotte NC area recognizes that many industry-leading efforts, particularly in nuclear, are focused in this are. Whether new nuclear units in Alabama and South Carolina, life-extensions of nuclear units in Florida, huge wind farms in Texas (as well as innovative storage battery testing), refining solutions for optimizing fossil plants throughout, many of the latest innovations are finding birth in this region.
This event will provide power generation industry leaders with information on the latest innovations in controls, instrumentation, cyber security, SmartGrid, regulatory issues and variable energy technologies, which impact the power generation delivery systems.
Each year this international conference, the largest single event of its type, brings together industry professionals in the power generation field with a primary focus on instrumentation and controls. We anticipate over 70 technical papers/presentations during joint sessions with fossil and nuclear focus, presented over a 3 day period. Additional schedule items include keynote messages from industry leaders, ISA and industry training sessions, EPRI Interest Group Meeting, ISA I&C Standards working group meetings, Honors and Awards Banquet, and vendor exhibits by key suppliers. There will also be an Opening Night Reception. An enjoyable spouse’s program will keep your guest/spouse busy during conference hours.
We are currently in the planning stages for the POWID 2012 Conference. The Conference will be held 3-8 June 2012 at the Marriot Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin TX. Its never to early to submit a paper, be a Sponsor or become a conference volunteer.
